Summary of meeting from January 24th, 2017 – 5to7pm Centre for Simulation Based Learning Attendees: Sandra Monteiro (Chair), Susan Ellis, Michelle Moray, Lawrence Grierson, Sameer Sharif (presenter), Annette Brown, Teresa Chan Informal guidelines for group goals and objectives Create a list of topics and presenters showcase and facilitate the development of sim based research presentations will follow different formats: journal club, informal research talk, think tank, show and tell, Summary At this meeting, Sameer oriented the group to a recent innovation that he has been involved in called Sim Olympics, which has been run at CAEP. Sameer argued that simulation can help push trainees into a state of conflict and confusion, which may be necessary for some forms of learning. He was also planning to develop a local multi-disciplinary. Next meeting: The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at 5pm, Centre for Simulation Based Learning, conference room. The presenters will be Tim Karachi, Michelle Moray and Sameer Shaikh. They will present a summary of recent work they have been doing using in situ simulation to understand the development of leadership skills.
